North Peninsula Municipal Water Report Info

Established in 1931, North City Water District (formerly Shoreline Water District) currently serves approximately 25,000 residents within Shoreline and Lake Forest Park, covering roughly 5 square miles. As a public water district, we operate independently from the City of Shoreline, Washington.

The District is governed by a three-member Board of Commissioners elected by voters in our service area. We employ various professional staff including structural engineers, accountants, operations personnel, and administrative staff, all supervised by a District Manager.

Our Mission: To provide high-quality municipal water to our community in a manner that promotes conservation, maintains customer trust, and protects their financial interest in the District.

Water Supply Management: North City Water District focuses exclusively on water quality year-round. We monitor quality parameters, maintain distribution infrastructure, develop requirements for new developments, and collaborate with the local community on planning, permitting, and equipment updates.

Infrastructure Maintenance: We continuously monitor all pipes, pump stations, supply stations, and reservoirs, replacing aging or undersized components and adding new infrastructure as needed. When emergencies arise (such as water main breaks), we respond promptly to address the situation.

Community Involvement: North City Water District actively participates in community traditions and events, including sponsoring the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, participating in Celebrate Shoreline Parade and related functions, and co-sponsoring the annual car show at the District office each summer.
