About Us
Orange County Utilities' water system delivers reliable service to a growing community across Orange County. In 2017, we provided quality water to over 150,329 accounts, serving more than 481,052 residents. Our operations produced 23.1 million gallons of water through 3 territorial facilities and 8 remote locations, distributed via 1,868 miles of water mains throughout our 451 square mile service area.
Our water comes from the Floridan Aquifer, a pristine freshwater reservoir beneath Orange County. This groundwater source maintains consistently high quality and is used by our system and others throughout the region. The aquifer is primarily replenished by rainfall that undergoes natural filtration through hundreds of feet of sand and rock. Due to this exceptional natural quality, our groundwater requires minimal treatment beyond disinfection and aeration to remove naturally occurring hydrogen sulfide.
