- How do I establish a water account? You must complete a service application and present valid identification (driver's license plus another ID form). Renters must provide a lease agreement. A one-time, non-refundable service fee is required. Note that water service activation typically occurs on the next business day.
- What payment options are available? You can pay with cash or check during business hours, or by check in the after-hours deposit box. Bank Draft is available. Credit/debit card payments accepted with a $1.00 in-office processing fee or $4.00 phone processing fee.
- Is there a late payment penalty? Yes, a $10.00 late fee applies to overdue water bills.
- Who handles leaks between the meter and my house? The homeowner is responsible for repairs in this area. The Water Works handles leaks between the water meter and street.
- Does the Water Works manage trash collection? No, please contact the City Clerk at (256) 835-6100 for trash service information.
