  1. How do I establish a water account? You must complete a service application and present valid identification (driver's license plus another ID form). Renters must provide a lease agreement. A one-time, non-refundable service fee is required. Note that water service activation typically occurs on the next business day.
  2. What payment options are available? You can pay with cash or check during business hours, or by check in the after-hours deposit box. Bank Draft is available. Credit/debit card payments accepted with a $1.00 in-office processing fee or $4.00 phone processing fee.
  3. Is there a late payment penalty? Yes, a $10.00 late fee applies to overdue water bills.
  4. Who handles leaks between the meter and my house? The homeowner is responsible for repairs in this area. The Water Works handles leaks between the water meter and street.
  5. Does the Water Works manage trash collection? No, please contact the City Clerk at (256) 835-6100 for trash service information.
