About Us
Our water resources consist of several municipal wells within both the Borough of Perkasie and East Rockhill Township. In 2005, the PENNSYLVANIA Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) conducted a Resource Water Assessment of our sources. The Assessment identified that our sources have heightened sensitivity due to detected Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and natural arsenic presence.
The assessment noted potential vulnerability from transportation corridors and agricultural activities, though overall, our sources maintain a low risk of significant contamination. To receive a complete copy of the Assessment, please contact our office directly.

We deliver exceptional water service to 4,622 water customers and sewer service to 3,783 customers at competitive daily rates: $1.14 for water, $1.34 for sewer, and $.04 for fire protection, based on average quarterly consumption of 15,000 gallons.
Our leadership in water conservation has yielded impressive results. Over the past 15 years, we've replaced and upgraded 8.2 miles of water lines, significantly reducing water loss through infrastructure improvements. Remarkably, our 2008 average daily water production was lower per unit than in 1994, despite serving 1,117 more customers – a testament to our effective conservation initiatives.
The Delaware River Basin Commission recognized our exemplary water resource management in 2002. We remain the only provider with a "reserve allocation" from the Commission available if needed, achieved through proactive system management.
Our sewage collection system management earned recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in their Congressional report on sanitary sewer system overflow impacts and control. We've replaced 28,333 feet of sewer mains and 158 manholes as part of our ongoing system modernization efforts.
Financial markets rewarded our sound management with an underlying A bond rating in 2003 and 2005, placing us among just eight Authorities in Pennsylvania to receive this coveted Standard and Poor's rating. In March 2008, our rating improved to A+, enabling us to secure lower interest rates that translate to customer savings.
In 2006 and again in 2015, the Insurance Services Office (ISO) acknowledged our improved fire protection flow, upgrading the Borough of Perkasie from class 5 to class 3, potentially reducing property owners' fire insurance premiums (check with your insurance agent to confirm).
These achievements demonstrate that PRA operates as a viable, efficient, and responsible leader in the public water industry. We take great pride in our accomplishments and welcome the public to learn more about our operations.
