About Us
Smithfield City stands as a beacon of community excellence, representing quality living and civic pride. In 2011, Smithfield was recognized as the best Utah town to live in - an honor residents already knew was well-deserved.
The Smithfield City Police Department serves with dedication and commitment to our core values. Our Promise, Our Community Pledge, and Our Ideals guide everything we do as we strive to improve our service capabilities.
Public safety remains our highest priority. Since its establishment in 2000, the Smithfield City Police Department now operates from its permanent facility at fifty-five E 100 H, which meets all our administrative and operational needs. We're grateful to Smithfield residents for providing this essential home base for our services.
We honor the memory of Officer Cody Foster, whose life in law enforcement was tragically cut short. His cheerful character, integrity, work ethic, and professionalism left an indelible mark on our department. Officers remember him as cool, entertaining, outgoing, and courageous - his spirit continues to inspire our service.
Our goal is to ensure Smithfield residents can go about daily activities free from crime or fear. While our 2011 statistics show challenges with theft, fraud, burglary, and domestic incidents, we remain committed to creating a community completely free of crime. Even minor infractions can have serious consequences for our residents' wellbeing.
Smithfield City must always represent freedom, trust, safety, optimism, cooperation, and constitutional rights for all. Our personnel proudly partner with community members to maintain the American dream and our exceptional quality of life.
