About Us
This statement is designed to inform you about your water quality and the daily services we provide. Our primary goal is delivering safe, reliable water to your home. We want to highlight our ongoing efforts to improve water treatment processes and protect our valuable water resources.
Our water comes from 9 wells that draw from two groundwater sources: the Atlantic Town "800-foot" Sand Aquifer System and the Kirkwood-Cohansey Water-table Aquifer System. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has prepared Resource Water Assessment Reviews with susceptibility ratings for all our wells.
For more information about the Resource Water Assessment System, visit www.state.nj.us/dep/swap or contact NJDEP's Bureau of Safe Drinking Water Supply at (609) 292-5550.
The Stafford Township Water & Sewer Utility Department regularly tests for contaminants following Federal and State guidelines. Our monitoring for January 1 to December 31, 2017 detected some contaminants, though at permissible levels. Some contaminants are tested less frequently as their concentrations rarely change.
Certain individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems—such as cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, the elderly, and infants—should seek medical advice about their drinking water. The EPA/CDC offers guidelines on reducing infection risks from Cryptosporidium and other microbiological contaminants through their Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791).
