About Us
The Batavia Purification Facility processed 1.05 billion gallons of water in 2016, with a daily average treatment of 2.93 million gallons. We serve 15,475 residents across approximately 5,800 service connections. In 2016, we delivered 812 million gallons total, with 242 million gallons distributed through Genesee County meters to the Towns of Salade, Oakfield, and Elba.
Additionally, 75 million gallons were utilized within the water treatment plant for testing and processing. Approximately 300 million gallons (22%) remain unaccounted for – attributed to fire hydrant usage, city maintenance, parks, Austin Park spray facilities, or water lost through leaks and main breaks. The 2016 average water rate was $5.12 per thousand gallons.
We're pleased to report that for 2016, your tap water met all State health standards. The Batavia Water Department proudly maintained compliance with no system violations, microbiological concerns, or monitoring/reporting infractions.
