- How do I terminate service? Contact Utility Billing at 817-952-2112 or email customerservice@bedfordtx.gov at least 24 hours before you need service discontinued. Please provide a forwarding address and contact information for your final bill.
- How do you read a water meter? Residential meters are read by viewing the first four (4) digits from left to right, similar to a car odometer. Commercial accounts may require reading four, five, or six digits, depending on the meter size.
- Do you estimate my bill? No, meters are read monthly. If a meter is inaccessible (vehicle parked over it, debris covering it, broken meter/glass), you're only billed the base rate until the meter can be read or replaced.
- Why is my bill so high? Bills can increase due to leaks (toilet, faucets, ice makers, slab, pipes), sprinkler system issues (leaks, incorrect settings, broken heads), seasonal outdoor watering, or increased household occupancy.
- How do I check for water leaks? Call Public Works at 817-952-2200 to request assistance checking for leaks, or hire a plumber.
- How can I pay my bill and what information do I need? Payment options include in-person, outdoor drop box, mail, online, bank draft, or electronic bank payment. We need your name, address, and account number to process payments. Phone payments are currently unavailable.
- Is there a fee for credit/debit card payments? No, this service is provided free of charge as a customer convenience.
- What payment types are accepted? We accept MasterCard, Visa, checks, cash, money orders, and cashier's checks.
- How can I print or obtain a copy of my water bill? Bills can be reprinted from the online bill pay website.
