Chatsworth Water Works is dedicated to providing residents with water that meets or surpasses federal and state quality standards. Our 2017 annual water quality report confirms that the water supplied by Chatsworth Water Works is SAFE and rates excellently when measured against health criteria.

This report includes information about your water source, its composition, and how it compares to regulatory standards. At Chatsworth Water Works, we're committed to delivering clean, safe, and reliable water to our community.

For additional information about your water or this report, please call our office at (706) 695-3132. The North Georgia Regional Development Center has prepared a Source Water Assessment Program (SWAP) for the Carters Lake water source serving Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens, and Whitfield counties. Chatsworth Water Works' Carter's Lake intake has received a moderate overall susceptibility rating based on GA EPD SWAP guidance materials and input from the Murray and Gilmer County SWAP Technical Advisory Committee.

The complete SWAP report is available at our office at 620 South Second Avenue. Chatsworth Water Works Commission meetings are announced in the Chatsworth Times and are open to the public. Meetings take place in the conference room at our office.

Our water comes from multiple sources: two springs in Eton (Eton Spring and Oneal Spring), Carters Lake, and Nix Spring. The Eton and Oneal Springs, located in the Knox Aquifer, provided a daily average of 1.319 MG, treated at the Eton Water Treatment Plant. We also processed 0.223 MG daily at the WW Fincher Jr. Water Treatment Plant in southeast Murray County, and 7,921 gallons daily at the Nix Spring Water Treatment Plant in east Murray County. Additionally, we purchase water from City of Calhoun (0.637 MG daily), Ocoee Utilities (0.073 MG daily), and Dalton Utilities (0.867 MG daily).

Chatsworth Municipal Water Report Information

Chatsworth Water Works Commission provides water services to residents of Chatsworth, Eton, and most of Murray County. Wastewater services are available to Chatsworth and Eton residents. According to the 2010 Georgia Drinking Water System Rate Survey by Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA), Chatsworth Water Works ranks among utilities with the lowest average consumer bills for water and wastewater services, reflecting our commitment to quality service at minimal rates.

Located in northern Georgia at the foot of Fort Mountain, Chatsworth Water Works Commission moved to a new 31,250 square foot facility in January 2006. This consolidation allowed us to streamline operations and reduce costs by centralizing our services in one location.

We continuously seek innovative ways to improve customer service cost-effectively. We've expanded our water supply capacity through partnerships with the City of Calhoun and Dalton Utilities, adding additional MGD (million gallons per day). Our partnership with Ocoee Utility District provides an additional 300,000 gallons daily to meet community needs.
