Georgia Water Utility Companies

The 2017 Water Quality Statement from Dalton Utilities aims to provide transparent information about your tap water quality. This includes our quality assurance processes, water sources, and comprehensive year-round testing results.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) establishes strict regulations limiting contaminant levels in public water systems and requires rigorous testing protocols. While the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulates bottled water, their testing requirements are less comprehensive than those for municipal tap water. This means the water you receive from Dalton Utilities meets more stringent safety standards than bottled alternatives that cost significantly more.

All water sources, including bottled options, naturally contain some level of contaminants. Their presence doesn't automatically indicate a health risk. For example, we add fluoride to promote dental health. For more detailed information about contaminants and potential health impacts, contact the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at (800) 426-4791 or visit their website at www.epa.gov/safewater.
