The Walker County Water & Sewerage Authority (WCWSA) was established in 1977 through legislation by Georgia's General Assembly. Currently serving approximately 30,000 residents, WCWSA continues to expand its service area each year.
The Authority operates under a five-member Board of Directors and functions independently from Walker County tax revenue, sustaining operations solely through monthly customer payments. WCWSA's primary mission is maintaining safe water delivery and adequate fire protection while minimizing service interruptions and keeping costs affordable.
WCWSA utilizes three distinct groundwater sources:
• Source 1: Walker County Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
• Source 2: Coke Oven Wells (COW)
• Source 3: Kensington Wells (KEN)
For additional information about water sources, please visit the Water Treatment Plant section on their website navigation panel. WCWSA also manages a wastewater collection system and treatment facility, with details available in the Waste Water Treatment section of their website.
For further assistance regarding WCWSA services, please browse their website or contact their office at (706) 820-1455 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM weekdays.
