YOUR WATER SOURCE
Our water supply comes from groundwater wells that draw from the Biscayne Aquifer. This water undergoes softening, filtration, and chlorination for disinfection purposes. We also add fluoride to promote dental health among residents.
OUR WATER SAFETY COMMITMENT
We conduct regular testing for contaminants in your tap water according to Federal and State regulations. This report reflects monitoring conducted between January 1 and December 31, 2017. Some data may be from earlier periods as permitted by regulatory guidelines since certain contaminant levels don't fluctuate significantly.
SOURCE WATER ASSESSMENT
In 2017, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) evaluated our system and identified seven potential contamination sources with low to moderate concern levels. ABOUT LEAD IN WATER
Elevated lead levels can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. Lead typically enters municipal water through materials in service lines and home plumbing, not from the source water itself. You can minimize exposure by running your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for consumption. Lead testing is available if you're concerned.
