Currituck County Water System

Currituck County residents benefit from dual water sources that provide abundant supply. Our original 1.4 million gallons per day Green Sand Filter Treatment Plant draws from 28 shallow wells supplied by the Yorktown and Upper Tertiary Aquifers. In 2009, we expanded capacity with our 1.5 million gallons per day Reverse Osmosis Plant, which draws from three deep wells in the Yorktown Aquifer.

Together, these facilities deliver 2.9 million gallons of clean water daily to our community. The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources conducted Source Water Assessment Program (SWAP) evaluations on all our water sources to determine vulnerability to potential contaminants.

These assessments resulted in detailed SWAP Reports that include maps, background information, and relative susceptibility ratings (Higher, Moderate or Lower) for the Mainland Water System. Ratings are calculated by combining contaminant ratings with inherent vulnerability scores based on well characteristics and assessment area conditions.

How long does a typical visit to the Parthenon take? The average visitor spends approximately 40 minutes exploring the Parthenon. With extensive historical artifacts and artwork, some guests choose to spend considerably more time.

When is the Parthenon open to visitors? The Parthenon welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please note the Parthenon is closed on Mondays.

What are the fees for Police reports? All reports are charged according to the Mayor's Executive Order Number 35 fee structure:

• Black and white copies: $0.15 per page
• Color copies: $0.50 per page
• Electronic requests: Free (unless labor charges apply)
• In-person, mail, or email requests: Labor charges apply after first hour

Available report types include Full Accident, Minor Accident, CAD Report, and Incident Report. Services and fees established in Metropolitan Code of Laws (M.C.L. 2.44.080) include:

• Arrest Record Check: $13.00 (shows only Davidson County arrests/charges, not court dispositions)
• VISA Letter: $19.00
• Fingerprinting: $9.00 (Each additional copy: $1.00)
• Computer Reports: Fee based on specific request

How do I submit a report to the Tennessee Department of Safety for a private property accident? As required by Tennessee Code 55-12-104, you must file a personal accident report with the Department of Safety if you were involved in a vehicle accident resulting in death, injury, or property damage exceeding $400. This requirement applies regardless of fault and is in addition to any reports filed by investigating officers.

Failure to submit this report within twenty (20) days may result in suspension of your driver's license and registration privileges.
