About Us
Both tap water and bottled water may originate from groundwater sources (springs, wells) or surface waters (rivers, lakes, reservoirs). As water travels across land or underground, it dissolves naturally occurring minerals and can pick up substances from animal presence or human activities.
We're committed to delivering quality water to our customers. Our water supply combines well water and surface water sources. We operate 9 wells that draw from the Potomac-Raritan-Magothy aquifer system. Additionally, we purchase 1.5 million gallons of treated surface water daily from Marlboro Township Water Utility Department, sourced from the Delaware and Raritan Canal via Middlesex Water Company. We also obtain 1.5 million gallons of treated surface water daily from Suez Water Matchaponix, drawn from the Matchaponix Brook.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has completed Source Water Assessment Reports for all community water systems. For more information on the Source Water Assessment Program, visit www.state.nj.us/dep/swap or contact NJDEP's Bureau of Safe Drinking Water at 609.292.5550.
Potential Contaminant Types

- Pesticides and Herbicides: Agricultural sources, urban stormwater runoff, and residential usage
- Organic Chemical Contaminants: Synthetic and volatile organic chemicals from industrial processes, petroleum production, gas stations, stormwater runoff, and septic systems
- Nutrients: Nitrogen and phosphorus compounds that aid growth, both natural and manufactured
- Radioactive Contaminants: Naturally occurring or from oil/gas production and mining activities
- Radon: Colorless, odorless, cancer-causing gas occurring naturally (more info: http://www.nj.gov/dep/rpp/radon/index.htm or call 800.648.0394)
- Disinfection By-Product Precursors: Formed when disinfectants (usually chlorine) react with organic material in surface water
To ensure tap water safety, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and NJDEP prescribe regulations limiting contaminant levels in public water supplies and requiring monitoring and treatment. Bottled water is similarly regulated by the Food and Drug Administration to provide equal public health protection.
