We're pleased to present this year's Annual Municipal Water Quality Report. This document is designed to inform residents about the quality water and services we deliver daily. Our constant goal is to provide you with safe, reliable municipal water.

We want you to understand the efforts we make to continually improve water treatment processes and protect our valuable water resources. We remain committed to ensuring the highest quality of your water supply.

Our water is drawn from the PRM and Mt. Laurel aquifers, ranging from 130 to 675 feet deep. Source water assessments were completed by the Bureau of Safe Drinking Water and are available by calling (609) 292-5550 or visiting www.state.nj.us/dep/swap. We also maintain a comprehensive source water protection plan at our office that provides additional information about potential contamination sources.

We're happy to report that our municipal water meets or exceeds all federal and state requirements. This report outlines our water quality and what it means for you and your family. The Medford Utility Department routinely monitors constituents in your municipal water according to Federal and State regulations. Our monitoring covers the period from January 1st to December 31st, 2017. As water travels over land or underground, it can pick up various substances including microbes, inorganic compounds, organic chemicals, and radioactive materials. All municipal water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants. However, it's important to understand that the presence of these substances doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.

How do I apply for Water Service at Eastside Utility District?

If you need service at a new address, three options are available:

1. On-Line (only available if you can attach a digital copy of your driver's license and pay your $15.00 non-refundable service fee online.)
2. Fax the contract and a copy of your driver's license to 423-490-9516. You'll also need to call our office and pay a $15.00 non-refundable service fee with a credit card before water service activation.
3. Visit our office in person. Complete the agreement and pay the $15.00 non-refundable service fee. We'll need to make a copy of your driver's license and may require a copy of your lease or purchase agreement if money is owed on the account.

Landlords - If you've previously had water in your name at an address, you can call our office to reinstate service under your name. A $15.00 service fee applies if the service has been turned off.

What payment options are available?

• In-person payments at our office (3018 Hickory Valley Rd) during business hours (8am-5pm, Monday-Friday)
• After-hours night drop box at our front door and drive-through window
• Satellite payment centers at First Tennessee Bank and Village Market in Collegedale (current bills only, with bill presentation required)
• Automatic Bank Draft
• Online Payment
• Mail
• Phone Pay via PSN (Payment System Network)

How do I check for leaks if my water bill seems too high?

If your bill is higher than normal and you suspect a leak, click the information link for guidance. If you believe your meter was misread, you can verify by checking the first four white numbers (left to right) on your meter's odometer. If this reading is lower than what appears on your current bill, call us at 423-892-2890 for an adjustment.

How do I restore service after disconnection for non-payment?

You must pay your outstanding balance plus a $35.00 reconnection fee during regular business hours. After 4pm, weekends, or holidays, a $65.00 fee applies. Payments can be made at our office, by phone during business hours, or directly to the Eastside employee at your meter. Service personnel are available at 423-892-2890.

Do you send notices before disconnecting service for delinquent accounts?

Yes, we send a delinquency notice after your second bill becomes past due. You then have 5 days from the mailing date to make payment before potential disconnection. Note that failure to receive a bill or notice does not exempt you from payment responsibility or service disconnection. If service is discontinued, a $35.00 fee plus the outstanding balance must be paid before restoration. A $20.00 fee applies to maintain service if a utility worker has been dispatched but hasn't yet disconnected your service.

How do I set up automatic bank drafts?

Complete the bank draft form available on our customer support tab and return it to our office with a voided check. Please allow approximately two weeks for processing. This authorizes your financial institution to automatically deduct your bill amount. You'll continue receiving regular bills showing the draft date and amount to be withdrawn from your account. This service is provided at no charge. Returned drafts incur a $25.00 fee.

Who handles sewer questions or adjustments?

Sewer charges are determined by your sewer provider, not the water utility. For questions about rates or leak-related sewer adjustments, please contact your provider directly using the numbers listed.
