Harrison Twp Water Authority Municipal Water Company and EPAHarrison Twp Water Authority Municipal Water Report Info
Many locals know our community as Natrona and Natrona Heights, though officially we are Harrison Township. Established as a First Class Township in March 1900, today our vibrant community houses over 10,000 residents across 7.2 square miles along the Allegheny River's western shore, approximately 20 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh.
Harrison Township is predominantly residential with mostly single-family homes. Currently, Maronda Homes is developing over 100 acres for new housing, which will add more than 300 residential units including both single and multi-family options. Our residents enjoy an exceptional quality of life unmatched in the Alle Kiski valley.
Our community features Harrison Hills County Park, a full-service YMCA, an active public library, hospital and extensive healthcare facilities, diverse religious and non-profit organizations, a wide range of retail businesses, restaurants, financial services, industrial firms, and quality municipal services.
Our six largest local employers include ATI-Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation (recently completed a new $1.2 billion hot-rolling and processing facility at the Brackenridge Works), Allegheny Valley Hospital and the Allegheny Health Network, the Highlands School District, JV Manufacturing, UPMC facilities, and Walmart. Numerous smaller diverse businesses are distributed throughout the Township, mostly along Freeport Road, our main thoroughfare.
Harrison Township remains the "best kept secret" in the Alle Kiski valley—a welcoming community for families and businesses within commuting distance to Pittsburgh.
