To contact the Water/Sewer Division, please call the DPS Main Office. The Water and Sewer Division is responsible for managing the town's water supply, treatment, distribution, and wastewater collection systems.
The division oversees four drinking-water well sites with pumping and treatment facilities. As a groundwater system, Medway treats its raw water with sodium fluoride for dental health, lime for corrosion control, and sodium hypochlorite for disinfection. These processes require daily monitoring by certified staff and the recently installed Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
Municipal water is pumped into two storage tanks with a combined capacity of 2.8 million gallons. The wastewater system includes approximately forty-four miles of gravity sewer flowing to the Charles River Pollution Control District treatment facility. Through its recent sewer extension project, the department now operates a sewer pump station in the Trotter Drive Industrial park area.
