Kentucky Water Utility Companies

Paducah Water is pleased to present this year's Annual Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Statement or CCR. This report outlines the quality of water and services Paducah Water delivers daily. We remain committed to providing safe, clean, and reliable water flow, and we assure our customers that we continuously monitor, improve, and protect our water system.

The data in this report reflects testing conducted from January through December 2018. Over the past decade, Paducah Water has integrated advanced technology into our operations to enhance efficiency and service quality. For instance, in 1976, we employed 51 staff members serving approximately 13,000 customers across 21 square miles. Today in 2019, we maintain 52 employees while serving over 27,000 customers throughout a 150 square mile distribution area—a testament to our technological advancements.

Our SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system and remote video surveillance enable operators to monitor and control the water treatment plant and distribution system centrally. Additionally, we're installing AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) meters that use cellular technology to transmit usage data, providing real-time information to customer service representatives and customers alike through online accounts.

Field technicians now have vehicle-mounted computer equipment, giving them immediate access to service requests while working in the community, eliminating multiple daily trips back to headquarters. Paducah Water continues investing in our staff, infrastructure, and community while embracing industry innovations to ensure we remain the Clear, Clean Choice!

Our water comes from the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers, classified as surface water sources. A source water assessment is available for inspection at the Purchase Area Development District office (270-247-7171). The susceptibility analysis indicates our water supply's vulnerability is generally high due to numerous petroleum storage facilities along the rivers, bridges crossing waterways that pose risks from traffic accidents or illegal dumping, and increased river traffic incidents.
