Washington Water Utility Companies

Your tap water originates from Spada Lake Reservoir, situated approximately 30 miles east of Everett at the Sultan River headwaters. This impressive 50-billion-gallon facility collects rainfall and snowmelt from the Cascade Mountains. Established in 1964 through collaboration between Everett City and Snohomish County PUD, it forms part of the Jackson Hydroelectric Project.

Spada Lake Reservoir is nestled within the Upper Sultan River Watershed, spanning over 80 square miles. This region ranks among the wettest watersheds in the continental US, with average annual rainfall reaching 165 inches—five times Everett's precipitation.

Water quality is rigorously monitored throughout the Sultan Basin. To maintain Spada Lake's pristine conditions, watershed access is restricted and patrolled regularly. Our security measures undergo continuous evaluation and enhancement to ensure your water remains safe.
