Washington Water Utility Companies

We're pleased to present the City of Snoqualmie's Annual Water Quality Report for 2017, updated yearly by our Public Works Department. Providing exceptional water quality is our highest priority. This report contains information about your water source, composition, and compliance with EPA and Washington State Department of Health standards.

We encourage you to become informed about your tap water to help protect our valuable resources for current and future generations. This report is provided as required by the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

The City of Snoqualmie Has Three Distinct Water Sources:

  • Canyon Springs - Located above the North Fork of the Snoqualmie River, this high-quality spring has served Snoqualmie since 1953. In 2008, we built a disinfection facility to treat the water with chlorine to meet state health standards. No filtration or fluoride is added.
  • North Wellfield (Wells 6, 7 and 8) - Located near Tokul Road and developed by Snoqualmie Ridge Phase I developers. This water is filtered and chlorinated, with no fluoride added.
  • South Wellfield (Wells 1 and 2) - Located in downtown Snoqualmie and developed by Snoqualmie Ridge Phase II developers. This water is filtered and chlorinated, with no fluoride added.

Water from Canyon Springs flows from North Fork Road into Snoqualmie where it combines with South Wellfield water. This mixed supply flows through downtown to a booster station where it's pumped into mains with North Wellfield water serving Snoqualmie Ridge. During emergencies, flows from Snoqualmie Ridge and North Wellfield can be reversed to supply downtown.

Who Ensures Water Quality in Snoqualmie?

  • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency sets national standards for over 100 potential contaminants under the Safe Drinking Water Act
  • The Washington State Department of Health enforces these standards
  • State-licensed laboratories conduct regular testing
  • Results are reported to the Department of Health and available to all customers

About Water Contaminants:
All drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably contain small amounts of some contaminants. Their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. The EPA prescribes regulations limiting contaminants in public water systems, while FDA regulations establish similar limits for bottled water.

For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, call the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline (1-800-426-4791) or visit www.epa.gov.

Your water is tested for more than 100 contaminants annually. The few compounds detected in 2017 were all within acceptable limits according to state and federal regulations.
