The Division of Natural Assets conducts resource water assessments to evaluate potential contaminant threats to our water sources. This process involves creating source water area delineations for each well or surface intake, followed by a thorough contaminant inventory to assess possible threats.

You'll need your state-assigned identification code (printed at the top of this report) to access your system's maps. These resources provide a foundation for developing a comprehensive source water protection plan.

Why are there contaminants in my tap water? All water, including bottled water, naturally contains some contaminants. Their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, contact the EPA's Safe Water Hotline (800-426-4791).

Potential source water contaminants include:

• Microbial contaminants (viruses, bacteria) from sewage treatment, septic systems, agricultural operations, and wildlife
• Inorganic contaminants (salts, metals) that occur naturally or result from urban runoff, industrial discharge, oil/gas production, mining, or farming
• Pesticides and herbicides from agriculture, urban runoff, and residential uses
• Organic chemical contaminants from industrial processes, petroleum production, gas stations, runoff, and septic systems
• Radioactive contaminants that occur naturally or result from oil/gas production

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources regulates public water systems and requires regular testing to ensure safety. Our system (ID: MO2024504) conducts comprehensive contaminant testing, with results shown in this report.

Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems (cancer patients, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, elderly persons, and infants) should seek advice from healthcare providers about their drinking water.
