In compliance with State regulations, the Havelock Water System issues an annual report detailing the quality of your municipal water. This report aims to increase your awareness about your tap water and emphasize the importance of protecting our water sources.

Last year, your tap water met all State health standards, and we're pleased to report our system did not violate any health-related maximum contaminant levels. This report provides an overview of last year's water quality, including information about where your water comes from, what it contains, and how it compares to State standards.

If you have questions about this report or concerns about your municipal water, please contact our customer service department. We believe in keeping residents informed about their water supply. For more detailed information, you're welcome to attend our regularly scheduled public meetings.

Where Does Our Water Come From?

Havelock's water comes primarily from groundwater sources. As water travels through the ground, it dissolves naturally occurring minerals and can pick up substances from animal presence or human activities. Potential contaminants include microbial agents, inorganic compounds, pesticides, organic chemicals, and radioactive materials.

To ensure tap water safety, state and federal regulations limit the amount of certain contaminants in public water systems. Regular testing and treatment processes help maintain water quality standards that protect public health.

Our water system serves approximately 14,456 residents through multiple service connections. The total water produced last year was monitored for quality at various stages of treatment and distribution. Our highest consumption periods typically occur during summer months.

The source water assessment for our groundwater supply shows medium susceptibility to contamination. This doesn't mean the water delivered to consumers is contaminated, but indicates potential risks that require continued monitoring and protection measures.
