York Water Company's core business involves the distribution, purification, and supply of water. We operate exclusively within our franchised territory covering 48 municipalities across York and Adams Counties, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PPUC) regulates our billing practices, payment procedures, dispute resolution, service terminations, service areas, and rate structures.
Water Resources
Our water supply comes from the south and east branches of the Codorus Creek, which drains approximately 117 square miles. We maintain two reservoirs, Lake Williams and Lake Redman, with a combined capacity of 2.23 billion gallons. Our current average daily consumption is about 20 million gallons, while our daily availability is approximately 35 million gallons.
