About Us
The Works Commission and Summerville Commissioners of Public Works have collaborated with Santee Cooper to establish the Santee Cooper Regional Water System. This system features a 36-million-gallon daily surface water treatment facility and 26 miles of transmission pipeline, operational since 1994.
The regional system processes and delivers water to your local utility, which then distributes it to your residence through approximately 600 miles of distribution pipelines. We believe our customers deserve complete transparency about their water services.
If you have questions about your water provider or this report, please contact your local utility listed inside this document. To learn more, consider attending one of your local water utility's regularly scheduled meetings, also listed within this report.
Santee Cooper Regional Water System and your local utility routinely test for substances in your tap water according to federal and state regulations. The enclosed table shows monitoring results from January 1 to December 31, with some constituents tested less frequently (all results are less than 5 years old).
All municipal water, including bottled varieties, can reasonably be expected to contain small amounts of certain substances. Remember that the presence of these elements doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, call EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
