Columbia/Adair Utilities District Municipal Water Report Info
Columbia Utilities has faithfully served the City of Columbia's utility needs for decades. The Adair County Water District was established through Fiscal Court petition in October 1971.

Over time, the Water District expanded significantly, now serving over 7900 customers through more than 470 miles of water lines. In 2009, city and county officials initiated discussions about merging both systems, resulting in the formation of Columbia/Adair Utilities District.

Water District Chief Operator Lenny Stone, with guidance from County Judge Ann Melton, Columbia Mayor Pat Bell, and Attorney Damon Talley, spearheaded efforts to unite the two systems. On July 30, 2010, the merger was completed with a unified mission to address Adair County's water and sewer requirements.
