What is the AMR Meter Project Program?
This mandatory infrastructure upgrade replaces existing water meters and remote readers with an Automatic Meter Reading system using radio frequency technology. The system allows readings to be collected efficiently by driving through neighborhoods rather than individual property visits.
How does the upgraded system benefit residents?
The new system eliminates misreads, improves consumption monitoring, enables better water rate management, and enhances overall customer service without any direct cost to residents. The project was approved and funded through a Town meeting in May 2010.
Installation Information:
Professional installers from East National Water LLC will handle all installations. Each technician carries photo identification. Residential installations typically take 30 minutes, with water service interrupted for only 5-10 minutes. Commercial installations may require longer, especially for larger meter sizes.
